What We Do

Function Finder is a dance music event discovery platform for St. Louis. We aggregate publicly available event information to help you find upcoming shows.

Data Collection

We use Zyte to collect event data exclusively from public Facebook event pages posted by promoters and venues in the St. Louis area. We only access event pages that are publicly visible to anyone on the internet — we do not log into Facebook, and we do not access any content behind login walls or privacy settings.

The data we collect is limited to event details only: event titles, dates, times, venue names and addresses, artist/performer names, ticket information, and promotional flyer images posted by event organizers. We do not collect attendee lists, RSVPs, comments, personal profiles, or any other user-generated content from these pages.

Cover images displayed on Function Finder are promotional flyers and artwork originally published by event organizers for the purpose of promoting their events. These images are used solely in the context of event discovery and promotion.

Data Retention

Event data is retained after an event has passed for archival and discovery purposes, allowing users to browse past events and artist history. If you are an event organizer and would like past event data removed, please contact us (see below).

Beta Feedback

If you submit feedback through our bug report widget, we collect the information you provide (name, email, description) along with your browser type and viewport size to help us reproduce and fix issues. This data is stored securely and used solely for improving Function Finder.

Cookies & Tracking

Function Finder uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site. These services may set cookies on your device and collect anonymized usage data such as pages visited, session duration, approximate geographic location, and device/browser type. This data helps us improve the site and understand which features are most useful.

Google Analytics data is processed in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

If you are an event organizer, venue, or artist and would like your information removed from Function Finder, please contact us and we will promptly accommodate your request.
